Desert Rose
Inspiration
This song was hard to write, sometimes they are, it can be like trying to catch a butterfly! The ‘house’ here refers to our lives. There is a verse in Proverbs 14 v1 that says ‘The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands, the foolish one tears hers down.
I have to say, this song blesses to me when I listen to it, which may sound strange, but it seems to speak back to me and carries peace.
Lyrics
You found me, in a desert place
With cords of love you encircled me
You found me, in the howling wastes
Covered me ,with kisses
My house was built, on barren soil
I found no lasting comfort there
The walls too thin, too weak to stand
Against the ever gathering storm
And I will never know how much
Your heart was longing for me
Never understand the price
You paid for me
We played in pools, of crystal blue
Your laughter like creations song
The trees bow down for joy of us
You bathe me in delightfulness
The sense of you brings me to tears
Amazing love, poured over me
Like summer rain on thirsty ground
Like blossom on a crown of thorn
And I will always hear your voice
Like streams of living water
Ringing clear like summer bells
My joy and my treasure
