A Love Song (Sister Song)

Inspiration

I started thinking about this lyric on the way back from Heathrow airport one January morning early. A friend of mine said ‘All I want is more of God’ there was a hunger in him which I thought was really precious. Sometimes though that kind of hunger is not matched with courage, so nothing comes of it.

This song is based very much on ‘The Song of Songs’

There are many allusions to various parts of that Bible passage.

I am always meditating on the intimacy that God longs to have with us, if we dare accept him, and allow all that beauty and kindness in. You’ll never know til’ you try.

I think I don’t want to interfere with the song for you by.

I thank my friend Anna for laying hands on me and praying that God would inspire me.

It’s my daughter-in-law’s favourite.

Lyrics

Come with me my darling
The winter days are over
The turtle dove begins to sing again
Flowers grow within my heart

Where all was dry and barren
Hold me ‘til the night time shadows fly x 2

All I want is more of you
My heart is sick with longing
Hold me ‘til
The day begins to breathe
I am lost without you
I seek and cannot find you
Sisters help me find my love again x 2

Oh what a feeling
Floating in your arms
Dancing through this endless space and time
If I could only stay here
Warm in your embrace
Turning in the sunlight and the breezes
Turning in the sunlight and the air

I look at you, you look at me
I’m captured by your beauty
Your face so sweet, your eyes so full of love
All that is within me,

Is longing for your touch
I will not leave until you satisfy

Oh what a feeling
Floating in your arms
Dancing through this endless space and time
If I could only stay here

Warm in your embrace
Turning in the sunlight and the breezes
Turning in the sunlight and the and the air

My love he is all sweetness
Water in this desert
His loving fills the spaces in my heart
A love without conditions
That cannot help but love me
A love that seeks the lost ‘til she is found
A love that seeks the lost ‘til he is found,
Hold me til the day revives again
